He gave me a chance to be an athletic official as a 19 year old kid. He taught me the phrase. Who you know got you into the room. What you do when you are in the room determines if you stay. I learned to be a good sports official and to prove I belonged there, and that philosophy I have followed to be the best teacher I could be. Mr. Greene was far more than a mentor. To many of us he was like a father. I would run many personal things across him through the years. He was always honest and open and always had a listening ear. He gave sound advice whether you agreed or not. I will personally miss him so very much as well as the personal support.
