May each of you be comforted in cherished memories, perfect peace and gentle understanding. Please accept my condolences, thoughts and prayers. I met Mr. Igner in June of 2022 when I began my career with the Oklahoma Department of Veteran Affairs - Lawton Division. Turns out he knew some of family to include my father. Mr. Igner was an inspiration, and always had something encouraging to share with me. He didn’t cut corners and held me to my word. Despite good days or bad days Mr. Igner was going to track me down and ask “What’s the agenda for the day?” And, if he wasn’t interested he’d be sure to say BORING. He instantly became one of my favorite residents along with his daily crew members. Almost every day each week I’d meet him and a few other residents on the patio for morning conversation before I began my work day. Mr. Igner did tell me I was the worst BINGO caller in America, and that wasn’t my calling so please don’t get up there again because I didn’t call the right numbers. He will be deeply missed and I’ll take all his words of wisdom with me as I follow the path God places in front of me. Thank each of you for allowing him to be a blessing to others. He touched a ton of lives. Respectfully, Don J. Demartra Oklahoma Department of Veteran Affairs - Lawton Division
