We may never understand the timeliness of how God moves? but we do know that God is always on time. This may seem unreal to most of us, or maybe even unfair but we do share one consolation in all of this and that is, this is not the end but the beginning of ever lasting life. May God comfort you and give you peace.

As you join your precious daughter, may you both have sweet rest. You will be remembered by many, for personal interactions. The only Outstanding Certificate I received in my High School years, came from you! Your beautiful smile, and the obvious love for Paula S., we all, will commonly remember. Thank you for educating, you have left a tremendous mark in our world. We shall meet on the other shore. Love and comfort to family, and the many who loved you dearly. Fly high beautiful!!

My hope in the Resurrection to see Carole and her Precious Daughter Paula again brings me comfort and l hope friends and family feel this hope the same, that we will meet again. It is so hard to let such a beautiful soul go, who touched my very being in my life shaping the Woman that l have become as many have been influenced by her loving and professional example. This world has lost yet another positive influencer for good and yet all of us will carry the torch forward. She will be missed. Rev 21:1,3,4, Isaiah 65:17, John 5:28,29, 2Pet 3:13 May you Rest well In Jehovah's memory in Jesus name. 🙏

A tribute to Dr. Carole H. Hardeman I lost one of my finest professors recently. Dr. Hardeman was an intelligent, good-natured, and compassionate professor. When I first enrolled in a master’s program at Langston University in 2007, my goal was to earn the degree and return to teaching at the secondary level. As luck would have it, I started the graduate program with her course and it took her a short time to identify me as a promising student. I wrote a paper and the day she was returning the scripts, she called me up to the front of the class, handed my paper to me, and requested that I read the introduction aloud to the class. I was nervous about her request because I thought she was about to humiliate me given my lack of experience in a system that was still new to me. No sooner did I finish reading my introduction than she began heaping praises on me for the quality of the paper. I would go on to take two more graduate courses with her. She would have more opportunities to know me as a fervent student with a glowing and insatiable desire for academic excellence. She would start encouraging me to apply for a doctoral program at Indiana University. Prior to our discussion about Indiana University, I had not heard of this institution before considering that I was less than five months old in the United States. She did not only encourage me to apply to this Doctoral Program, she also wrote a powerful letter of recommendation in support of my application. When Indiana University admitted me into their Doctoral Program in 2008 to study Curriculum and Instruction, Dr. Hardeman and my classmates organized a send-off party for me and my family. I stayed in touch with her throughout my doctoral studies, sharing with her some of my papers with professors’ comments. Although the doctoral program was far more rigorous and challenging than I had anticipated, I lived up to expectations (graduating with a 3.8/4 GPA) partly because I wanted to bring pleasure to her as my indefatigable mentor. She was absolutely PROUD of me and my accomplishments. She did not hesitate to share my story with graduate students who enrolled in her courses subsequently. When she retired, her family organized a memorable event in Memphis, TN to celebrate her life and her professional accomplishments. My wife and I are grateful to have been part of that event six years ago. I would not conclude this tribute without citing this Chinua Achebe’s proverb, “…when we see a little bird dancing in the middle of the pathway, we must know that its drummer is on the near-by bush” (Arrow of God). I am the little bird and Dr. Hardeman was my hidden drummer in the bush. It truly takes a village to raise a child. Adieu, Dr. Hardeman! May your soul rest in peace! You will be sorely missed.
