Sometimes she would call me to take her to the store etc, those were the most enjoyable moments for me. We would go out to lunch, and we would laugh and talk about our favorite subject JESUS CHRIST. She would tell me she was getting feeble. The last time we went to lunch I surprised her and took her to Norman,Ok to eat and she really enjoyed the trip. There was a street she wanted to know where it led, and I took her to see where it led. She was tickled and said, Vern you are something else. We both found out it led back to I-35.Every time I saw Mrs. Blakely or talk to her, I tried to give her her flowers while she and I both lived. I would kiss her forehead and tell her I loved her, and she would laugh and say, "I love you to Vern." If Mother Blakely's health would have held up, I was planning to take her to Dallas for lunch. Mother Blakey would talk bout Heaven saying she was ready. I did not get to make it to the hospital before the LORD called her home, and as I was looking at her, my heart was sad, but part of me was joyful because she was in the presence of our GOD our LORD and SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST where she wanted to be. Once again to the whole family Mother Blakely expressed her love for each of you her family. Uncle Al and family, our hearts are with yours. Ms. Blakely has been a part of our family for all these years. One of my fondest memories as a kid was at a family picnic with Mr. and Mrs. Blakely and all those years I thought they were my grand parents. Mrs. Blakely touched a lot of peoples live. That is a sign of a life well lived. I can only hope that I live my life as well as she lived hers. In your loss, we pray that you would find solace in knowing that as a believer, we are not saying good bye. We are saying "I will see you later."
