Joan was lovely, caring, thoughtful, responsible, a good woman. Having her in our mother’s life was a great blessing.

I and all in my family so loved Joan. My mother loved your mother. My father loved your mother, we all loved your mother because your mother so loved our mother. Dear Joan was a saint alive. She was reliable, dependable, kind, loving. She fed my children and advised them in my absence. And we so loved how Gene with little Tonya or Jeanie came and picked Joan up everyday, always with a smile and a kind word. This was the Brown family we knew and came to love…. I believe that Joan is now walking the fields of flowers with her beloved Gene beside her. God Bless the Brown family. You were, You are, You will always be special to our family for sharing your beautiful Joan with the Prosser family Peace ❤️❤️❤️ Mary Prosser Flaim

Your Mama Joan was a gift to our family and an angel sent from God to our Mama. They laughed together. They did shenanigans together that I know made my mama giggle. My mama confessed that once or twice they had a cigarette and once Joan let mother drive. Crazy brave. I don’t how far they went. Hopefully just down the driveway and back. But our mother was thrilled. As our mothers health declined. Your mother’s unwavering heart felt care continued. One weekend when I was in charge and no one else was home. My mother took my hand. Moved my face to look at her. Worked hard to speak loud and clear and said. JOAN. Joan. Her beloved friend, caregiver extraordinaire Joan Brown. Thank you for all that you did for her and for sharing yourself and your family with us.

Genie and Tonya, I am so very sorry to hear that Joan passed away. She was a very sweet, kind and gentle person. She was a beautiful person inside and out. I know that nothing can ease your pain, but I hope you can find comfort knowing that she and Gene are walking hand in hand together. May God comfort you in this painful time.

My Aunt Joan was a second mother, she was a friend and confidant. She always had the biggest smile and she could fill a room with her laughter. I would call her from wherever I was living; and she would encourage and advise me. I remember a few times she convinced me not to quit my job!! lolol I could talk to her about anything!! But most of all I knew she loved me with all her heart….. As a child, the memories of going to Aunty’s house meant there was going to be some good food and dessert; and as much as I wanted lol! The memory of her hot water cornbread and peach cobbler will stay with me forever!! I would call her with questions on how to make them , but it never tasted like Aunty’s!! I have a fond memory of us listening to Aretha Franklin records and dancing. Aunty was a blessing to our family, through good times or hard times or anytime, always!! She could make you feel safe and you could be yourself. My Aunty was a fox :-)) She always had the most beautiful hair. You never knew what she would do next: color, cut, length or style. It was always classy. And she always smelled so good. I pray that I showed her enough of the love and respect, and gratefulness that she so deserved, while she was her on earth. She was my favorite Aunty; I would whisper it in her ear, whenever we shared a hug and it would make her laugh. It was our secret. Now she’ll be one of my favorite angels….watching over me. Cousins I know your hearts are broken right now and I’m so so sorry she is gone. But, I see a little bit of Aunty in you all. Your caring ways, your smiles, your beauty and laughter and your strength. You know Aunty will be with you forever; for as long as she is remembered. Love Flip

Jeanie and Tonya, I am so sorry for the loss of your mother and my dear childhood friend Joan. Joan was a good friend. She was a lot of fun to be around and we always had a humorous time. I don't think we ever had an argument. Joan will be truly missed. My family is praying that you and your family will be blessed and comforted. Jean Hinton and Family
