Loretta, Kay & Charles: Words cannot express my sorrow on the passing of your mother. Doris was a very sweet and loving person. So let me say to the family that in your moments of deepest sadness, may God hold you in the palm of His hand and angels watch over you. Love and Blessings

My Step Mom was more like a Mother to me and my sister Henrietta. She was the best I remember when our Dad Henry would get on to us and she would come to our defense telling my dad " HENRY LEAVE THOSE GIRLS ALONG" and help him to understand what we were going through..you could talk to her about anything she was good listener. I remember working weekends at the Snack Bar on 2nd, when we closed around 12 or 1:00 pm in the morning we would turn the juke box on and dance and sing it would be 3:00pm in the morning before we would get out of there sometime since Mom didn't drive My Dad would have to pick us up. it been 5 years since our Dad has pass and now Mom... She will be missed !! LOVE YOU MOM!!

The words "real" and "strong" comes to mind when I think of Grandma Doris. She always stood by Grandpa. I know she loved him very much! I am my mother's firstborn. I grew up around her on 2nd street and she was the best cook! Always made sure I ate! After I ate I'd get a bag of fruit and candy! Granda didn't like me to play on his old fashion cash register, but somebody talked him out of it lol. I know who I was Grandma Doris! I am very proud to know her and to have someone like her in my life. She always made it better. I was loved and safe. I am a better person because of knowing her. I will miss you!
