Mr. Pitts...wow, a man of unique integrity. I was only 6 or 7 years old when I met him, my sister Mary's teacher, coach & friend. I believe he was good at anything he put his mind & heart to. She & her classmates had so much respect for him at Douglass H.S. back in the late 60's & it's the same today. He cared so much about them & their future. Their success is a part of his legacy now. I know God is a good God, He is in control at all times & He is Our Comforter as well. May the lives that Mr. Pitts touched, including mine, be the sparkles shining brightly from his jeweled Crown of Glory. The one he received from Jesus just the other day. I wish all men would invest in children's lives like he did, because it also makes a difference to those who are watching. He would smile at me & that was encouraging enough for that season of my life. I am praying for the Pitts family & that God will keep everybody who loved him, in His loving care.
